Summer Potluck!

Tonight marked the first potluck of the summer. Three great friends with great food and laughter-filled conversations occupied this evening. My contribution was lemon isreali couscous with steamed kale, a la Vegan Yum Yum and fruits. Other parts of the meal included a lovely chopped veggie salad, chili lime tofu (looked ugly but tasted good) the darkest dark chocolate brownies ever created and the perpetually undercooked, but dearly devoured oatmeal bread (I got to keep the leftovers!). We always end up laughing as much as we eat (both being way too much), so we decided that we should make it a semi-normal occurrance. We ended the night with some hot tea, which lead to us having to turn the fan on. It's just too hot here in FL!

Most of the "divine" spread.

My plate. Tofu looks sufficiently gross. Tasted good, just sort of fell apart in the pan.

Super dark chocolate brownies with maple syrup on top. mmmm

Oooh, can you post a recipe for oatmeal bread?? I've never heard of such a thing, and you know how my heart pitter-patters for oatmeal

I would but Jared is guarding it at the moment. I'll try to get it out of him... but just a warning, every time it's been made it has been undercooked. Strangest thing.
